Help with Talesium

Step-by-step help for installing the app, making your first video and keeping your work safe. If you're stuck, email us and a person will answer, usually within one business day.

Installing

  1. After paying you'll land on your download page, and Stripe emails a receipt. Keep the receipt email; it is your proof of purchase.
  2. Download Mayras Project (stand-alone).html. This standalone edition includes its fonts, artwork and music in one file.
  3. Make a new folder, for example Documents › Mayras Project, and save the downloaded HTML file there. Keep a backup copy.
  4. Open Mayras Project (stand-alone).html with Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome. On Windows: right-click it, choose Open with, then Edge or Chrome.
  5. To make a desktop shortcut on Windows: right-click the file, choose Show more options › Send to › Desktop (create shortcut).

Making your first video

  1. Click New project, give it a name and choose a theme. You can change the theme later.
  2. In Photos, drag in your photos and short video clips, or use Import a whole folder.
  3. Click a slide to edit its words, or drag slides to change their order. Arrange slides shows them all at once.
  4. In Music, choose a track or add your own songs.
  5. Click Preview to watch it, then Make video to save a video. MP4 availability depends on your browser and codecs; the app can fall back to WebM. Test the exported file on the device you will use at the event.

Saving and backups

Your work saves itself every time you make a change. It's stored inside the browser on that computer, so clearing your browser's "cookies and site data" would erase it.

For anything important, open the menu and choose Save project file…. Keep that file on a USB stick or in cloud storage. To bring it back, or to move it to another computer, use Open project file….

Troubleshooting

There's no music

The standalone edition embeds its music; separate Music Pack files are not needed. Check the selected track, app and system volume, and browser audio permissions. If playback still fails, contact support with your browser version.

The app opens as a page of text

The file opened in a program other than a web browser. Right-click it, choose Open with, and pick Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome.

My projects disappeared

Projects belong to the browser and computer they were made on. Make sure you're using the same browser as before. If browser data was cleared, open your saved project file.

Saving the video is slow

Close other programs and choose the 720p quality for a quicker save. Long videos with many clips take longer.

Safari on Mac

Use Chrome or Edge on a Mac. Safari can open the app but may not keep your projects between sessions.

Email us from the address you used at checkout, or forward your Stripe receipt, and we'll send the link again.

If Talesium isn't right for you, email us within 30 days of purchase for a full refund.
